Nocturnal Depression

Nocturnal Depression are a French Depressive Suicidal  Black Metal band formed in 2004. One of the first BM bands I heard, helped me get into the genre. Really sounds like pure anguish in music form and it makes me feel awesome.

Reflections of a Sad Soul (2008) - My favourite release from them.

Aus-Rotten

I've only heard two songs by this crust/anarcho-punk band but I'm interested enough to get more into them, the songs I've heard are respectively anti-patriarchal and anti-hierarchical so obviously speak to me ;)

Anomie

Anomie were a French screamo band formed in 1994.

Keeping with the Female-fronted screamo, we have lyrics such as:
Lyrics en Français: Le respect de la vie humaine n’est-il pas celui du respect même de l’individu dans son intégrité ? Vouloir défendre la vie à tout prix n’a aucun sens quand on méprise avec autant de force la liberté de chacun/e à disposer de son corps et de sa pensée. Combien de temps encore faudra-t-il se réfugier dans la peur et la honte avant de pouvoir assumer pleinement ce choix ? Combien de temps encore avant de pouvoir se regarder en face sans dégoût ni culpabilité ?

English (not sure how accurate, I'm not a Frenchie)

The respect for human life, is it not the same respect of the individual in it's entirety? To want to defend life at any cost has no meaning when you despise it with equal force at the freedom of each one's own body and thoughts. For how long will he hide in fear and shame before he can fully make this choice? How long before he can look at himself in the face without disgust or guilt?

Lumber Lung

"Don’t put your arm around my waist unless you ask if I want you to."
"It’s not ok just because it was before; this is my body to touch not yours."
I've got a thing about female-fronted punk bands (it's obviously inherently anti-patriarchal)  & Lumber Lung doesn't disappoint. There is something special to me about a human screaming about equal rights at the top of their lungs.

Other than that they're just an all-round amazing band download them now ;)
